Deliberate Practice Research Webinar

THERAPIST TRAINING RESEARCH WEBINAR: An Interview with Dr. Jolin Yamin (Ph.D.)

Dr. Jolin Yamin and her colleagues published a compelling study in 2023 that immediately captured our attention.

The study focused on the development of two distinct training conditions for emotional processing skills, comparing their effectiveness in fostering skill acquisition. These skills are particularly challenging for therapists, often putting their emotional capacities to the test, and are crucial for moment-to-moment interactions during therapy sessions. In this webinar, Dr. Yamin and Vidar Husby will discuss the study's design, the dilemmas encountered, and the implications of its findings.

This webinar is part of a series where you can meet researchers exploring the effectiveness of therapist training methods. Their research may provide valuable insights that contribute to a deeper understanding of deliberate practice in psychotherapy. The webinars are hosted by Clinical Psychologists Vidar Husby (Norway) and Inês Amaro (Portugal) from the International Deliberate Practice Society (IDPS).

This webinar is free for IDPS members. Support the important work of the IDPS by becoming a member today!
