Below are a list of certified Deliberate Practice supervisors available for private psychotherapy supervision, group trainings and workshops. DP is not theory-specific, so supervisors can help even if their therapeutic orientation is different to yours. Work with supervisors can count towards DP certification.   • Anna-Maija Kokko

    FINLAND

    Anna-Maija is a psychologist and cognitive psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer. She has worked at public mental health psychiatric clinics and private practice mostly with patients who suffer from longstanding psychological conditions. Developing psychotherapy training and supervision has been her interest for many years and Deliberate Practice has offered great opportunities to enhance training and supervision.

    Vidar is specialist in clinical psychology, and his main interests and skills are psychotherapy and supervision. He trains therapists who want to learn to develop their skills through deliberate practice. He also trains supervisors and coaches-to-be who want to teach skill-building to their psychotherapy trainees. Playing the bass and working as a photographer taught him the value of purposeful practice. Vidar lives and works in Norway, and offers teaching, workshops, supervision and coaching in many countries.

    Tony is President and Program Director at Sentio University. He has extensive experience in clinical training and research. He is Incoming President of Division 29 of the American Psychological Association and the author of numerous peer-review papers and a dozen books on Deliberate Practice and psychotherapy training. He is co-editor of two series of clinical training books: “The Essentials of Deliberate Practice” (American Psychological Association Press) and “Advanced Therapeutics, Clinical and Interpersonal Skills” (Elsevier). In 2017, he published the widely-cited article in The Atlantic Monthly, “What your therapist doesn’t know”. Dr. Rousmaniere supports the open-data movement and publishes his aggregated clinical outcome data, in de-identified form, on his website. He is a licensed psychologist in California and Washington

  • Dan Sacks

    Dan Sacks is a Psychologist and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist (2nd and 3rd wave). Dan is on a constant search for better outcomes, a journey that has led him to establish the Israeli Centre for Deliberate Practice. Through workshops, group supervision and personal coaching, Dan’s trainees include experienced practitioners and psychotherapy students in Israel and internationally, as well as elite military rescue teams. Dan’s clinical work focuses on clients suffering from anxiety disorders and OCD. Dan is a father of two, living in Jerusalem.

    Elisabet, originally a dancer, and diploma dance-and-movement therapist, is a specialist in psychological treatment and supervision. She´s been working in the forensic field with foremost sexual offenders and domestic violence, as well as a supervisor and teacher in university settings. Deliberate practice she came across in her dance training. As an international coach for deliberate practice, she works with both therapists and supervisors who want to develop their professional skills..

  • Luca Rossi

    Luca Rossi is a clinical psychologist, ISTDP psychotherapist and an IEDTA certified teacher and supervisor. Luca works in private practice in Padua (Italy) and in Mastermind Center in Castelfranco Veneto (Italy). He also collaborates with other organizations that have a well- established local presence throughout north Italy, providing ISTDP therapy, teaching and supervision. These experiences, combined with the belief in the effectiveness of ISTDP, have led him to become a teacher and a mentor for colleagues who are interested in integrating this therapeutic methodology into their professional experience. Since 2014 he teaches ISTDP in IEDTA certified core trainings in Italy and he presented his clinical work at the IEDTA conference in Amsterdam (2016) and Boston (2019).     Alex has broad experience providing in-person and online psychotherapy education and training. He is the author/co-editor of numerous peer-review papers and books on Deliberate Practice and psychotherapy training, including two series of clinical training books: “The Essentials of Deliberate Practice” (American Psychological Association Press) and “Advanced Therapeutics, Clinical and Interpersonal Skills” (Elsevier). He has held multiple committee roles for the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI) and the Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR). Dr. Vaz is founder and host of “Psychotherapy Expert Talks,” an acclaimed interview series with distinguished psychotherapists and therapy researchers. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in Portugal.

She offers supervision and mentoring as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and became a Certified Gottman Therapist in 2020. She is also Executive Director of Margin to Center Therapy, where she supports members of equity-deserving groups in earning licensure and launching private practices. She offers Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion services, including the Ally Skills Workshop, as Margin to Center Consulting. She is also core faculty in the Antioch University Couple and Family Therapy program. She lives in West Seattle with two grey cats, Koala T.     Vesla Birkbak is a clinical psychologist with 25 years in private practice. She is a specialist in psychological treatment and supervision.

    Vesla is certified as an ISTDP therapist, teacher and supervisor. She has been doing ISTDP precores and core training for more than 10 years and is now working with integration of ISTDP and Deliberate Practice in ISTDP group supervision.

    Vesla is running courses in Deliberate Practice for younger as well as more experienced psychologists.
